Suchai Thanawastien is an Advisor of ADVISINGASIA . He is based in Bangkok and supports the firm to develop its strategy in the Internet and technology-related field.

Educated in America, Prof. Dr. Suchai has acquired a deep knowledge in Computer Science and Information Technology, having extensively taught and pursued academic researches both in the United States and in Thailand.

​

He started his academic career in Thailand, as a Lecturer at Chulalongkorn University. Relocated again in the United States, Prof. Dr. Suchai has first held the position of Assistant Professor at Southern Illinois University - Computer Science Department (Carbondale, Illinois, U.S.A.)  and, then, has become Associate Professor at University of Louisiana - The Center for Advanced Computer Studies (Lafayette, Louisiana, U.S.A.), where he has worked for seven years.

Moved back to his motherland in 1992, Prof. Dr. Suchai has been appointed Dean of the School of Information Technology of Rangsit University (Bangkok). Later, he has led Sripatum University (Bangkok), a private institution, for almost a decade.

​

Recently, Prof. Dr. Suchai has been directing the Ph.D. Program in Information Technology at Shinawatra International University, where he seats as well in the Executives Committee and he is Acting Dean of the School of Liberal Arts.

​

Currently, Prof. Dr. Suchai commits himself to the academic research mostly with regard to IoT and Smart Cities, as well as being involved as a mentor or directly as an entrepreneur in a number of technology and digital-oriented ventures.

​

Suchai Thanawastien holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Auburn University, in the United States.

​
